Skyscanner reveals global rankings of world's most experimental travellers, with India coming in third.
Skyscanner recorded searches to 231 countries for the first half of 2015. It is revealed that emerging, off the beaten track destinations such as Ireland, Sweden and Greece are preferred over all-time favourites. France tops the list of most experimental travellers.
New Delhi, 19 August, 2015: According to Skyscanner, a leading global travel search engine, India emerges as the world’s 3rd most experimental country when it comes to travel; choosing off the beaten path destinations over all-time favourites such as USA, United Kingdom, and Australia. The data validates that Indians have been opting for upcoming yet picturesque destinations like Ireland, Sweden, Greece, Switzerland and Japan, which offers a true sense of place, history and authenticity.
Commenting on the findings, Kavitha Gnanamurthy, Senior Marketing Manager at Skyscanner India said, “Indians have increasingly become more experimental when it comes to travel. This is contributed by the evolving travel ecosystem, where travellers have access to a wider range of options to inform and inspire smarter travel decisions. Skyscanner plays a big part in the travellers’ journey, providing the most comprehensive global coverage to inspire Indian travellers who are craving for more travel and newer destinations. With Skyscanner’s Best Time to Book interactive tool, “Price Alerts” and search “Everywhere” feature, travellers can plan their travel well in advance to source for the best price to their favourite destinations.”
